5/31 Tip of the Day with Walmart/Target/Walgreens Trips

Tip of the Day:

When using coupons, always buy the LOWEST priced item (or lowest priced sale item) that the coupon will allow you to use.

The goal with couponing is to spend the LEAST out of pocket. As a society, we have been molded into thinking that the "family size" is the best value. Case in point: I used to always buy the 6 pack of Bounty Basic paper towels. I would get a coupon for $.25 off 1 Bounty product at the beginning of each month in the P&G Brandsaver newspaper insert. I was so "fixed" in my brain about buying that same product, but I was only saving $.25 and still paying over $6 for paper towels! My mindset has completely changed. We can get so used to buying the same detergent or dish soap or whatever that we catch ourselves spending more than we really have to! So today get out of your rut and branch out so you spend less! If you get that coupon this next month, look for the $1 roll of Bounty Basic (at Walmart) and spend only $.75!!!!!!!!

Also, if I get a coupon for $.35 or $.5o and it happens to be missing the statement "excluding trial sizes" then I am headed directly to the trial size section. This is great to remember because we always travel somewhere and since I don't like to pay full price for anything, it is great to stock up on these and not have to run to the store last minute and pay almost the same price for a trial size as a regular sized item.

In the pictures above you will see 3 shopping trips, all reflecting today's tip. I am going to use them as examples and pick out a few items from each to show what I did. The examples selected are still ongoing sale prices so you can duplicate what I did.
