Target has released a NEW Coupon Policy so it would be a great idea to print it out and read through it and bring it to the store with you if needed.
It looks like there were only 2 major changes in the coupon policy which pertain to BOGO Items/Sales:
Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):
· BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
· A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
o If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.
o If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.
As a quick follow up - I have never tried to even use 2 BOGO coupons to get both items for free! I never knew you could do such a thing and have never stated on my blog that you can do that so this doesn't really affect me much. The second bullet point to the BOGO update is kind of a BUMMER since this will really cut into our savings potential! I honestly think that stores are going to be updating/changing their coupon policies since more and more people are catching onto couponing and how to stack coupons for the most savings - not to mention the Extreme Couponing show on TLC (I don't have cable so I have yet to see an episode! ). I know Publix updated their coupon policy recently as well as Rite Aid ( not local) so it looks like Target has jumped on the bandwagon. I am sure we will be seeing more of this!
If anyone is confused about the new policy since Target I am assuming has to be all legal about it, feel free to email me at christianmommyhood@gmail.com and ask me some questions.
